This post is exclusively for PNP Maritime Group personnel only.
The personnel of PNP Maritime Group are receiving an additional Allowance called Sea Duty Pay or SDP.
It is equivalent to 25% of the monthly base pay (2013 approved rate as the basis) and is released by the Finance Service in a quarterly lump directly to the individual ATM accounts of the entitled personnel.
Also note that MG personnel are no longer qualified to receive other allowances such as CDP and CIP, per NAPOLCOM resolution
Prior to the release of SDP to the individual personnel, it passes through a stringent process with atleast 12 steps.
It includes verification and certification by DPRM, approval by DC, and until the funds are released to PNP Finance Service (FS).
The FS will then begin the encoding for crediting to individual accounts. Once finished, FS will forward it to Land Bank – Camp Crame which will do the crediting to individual accounts of entitled MG personnel.
It must be highlighted that HMG has no hand in the actual crediting of money to the individual accounts.
The money does not pass through HMG. The role of HMG for the entire process is in encoding the names of those entitled and forwarding the same to relevant higher offices in National Headquarters.
If the personnel is on schooling, definitely, they are not entitled.
Based on the new NAPOLCOM resolution, to become entitled to receive SDP, the MG personnel must render seaborne duty.
