THE PAINTING CHINA HAS GIVEN TO PDUTERTE IS A SPYING BUG

The Russians were able to spy the US Ambassador to the USSR when they gave a gift to the latter.. The resulting diplomatic fiasco after the bug was discovered a few years later caused so much problems and embarassments. Unknown number of state secrets of the US, including military data, were believed to have been taken by the Russians thru the bug.

According to Wikipedia:

The Thing, also known as the Great Seal bug, was one of the first covert listening devices (or “bugs”) to use passive techniques to transmit an audio signal. It was concealed inside a gift given by the Soviets to the US Ambassador to Moscow on August 4, 1945. Because it was passive, being energized and activated by electromagnetic energy from an outside source, it is considered a predecessor of RFID technology.

I suspect that the painting has a bug. Seriously.

Note:
This is a legitimate concern woth no political color whatsoever. I hope somebody responsoble would heed the call to have it inspected, as it is on a scale of  National Security issue.
